Edgeview Promotes Four

CHARLOTTE, N.C., January 6, 2011 – Edgeview Partners is pleased to announce that Derek Beres and Chris Rosbrook have been promoted to managing director and Tripp Griffin and Craig Walker have been promoted to vice president.

Partner Bill Morrissett, one of Edgeview’s founders, announced the promotions Monday as the firm kicked off the start of a new year. 

“As we continue to build on our momentum as an independent firm, we’re thrilled to be able to place these four individuals in positions of leadership,” Morrissett said.  “We are counting on these officers to help lead Edgeview amid a strengthening M&A market.  Each with diverse backgrounds, they bring a strong mix of generalist M&A experience and industry expertise.  We are excited about what 2011 has to offer and these professionals have a proven ability to deliver the superior client service that Edgeview is known for.”

Derek Beres joined Edgeview in 2004 and co-heads Edgeview’s Transportation and Logistics practice.  Prior to joining Edgeview, Mr. Beres was a vice president in Morgan Stanley’s London and Frankfurt offices, where he focused on European M&A.  He also gained experience as a management consultant with Arthur D. Little.  Mr. Beres earned a master of international business studies degree from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor of science degree from The Citadel.

In 2010, Mr. Beres helped lead an Edgeview team that advised on the sale of closely-held DistTech, Inc., a leading provider of specialized freight and logistics solutions primarily for the chemical industry, to The Kenan Advantage Group.

Chris Rosbrook joined Edgeview in 2004 and leads Edgeview’s Applied Technology practice.  Prior to joining Edgeview, Mr. Rosbrook was a vice president in the Silicon Valley office of Dain Rauscher Wessels and RBC Capital Markets, where he focused on technology M&A.  Previously, he was a vice president at MAGMA Foundry Technologies, a provider of computer-aided engineering tools for the metalcasting industry.  He holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago, a master of engineering degree from The Ohio State University and a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University.

Mr. Rosbrook helped lead an Edgeview team that advised H.I.G. Capital on the June 2010 sale of H.I.G.’s investment in Insight Global, Inc., a leading information technology staffing provider, to Harvest Partners.

Tripp Griffin joined Edgeview in 2007 and is a member of Edgeview’s Defense, Aerospace and Homeland Security practice group.  Prior to joining Edgeview, Mr. Griffin was a Navy officer deployed overseas on numerous occasions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and in response to the events of September 11, 2001.  He earned a master of business administration degree from Duke University and a bachelor of arts degree from Vanderbilt University.

Mr. Griffin was part of the Edgeview team that advised on the September 2010 sale of BFG Supply Co. to Tricor Pacific Capital.

Craig Walker joined Edgeview in 2007 and is a member of Edgeview’s Business Services and Healthcare practice groups.  Formerly an attorney at Hunton & Williams LLP, he gained substantial experience advising capital markets clients in the underwriting and issuance of asset-backed securities.  Mr. Walker holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Virginia and a bachelor of arts degree from Duke University.

Mr. Walker was part of the Edgeview team that advised on the April 2010 sale of The Harvard Drug Group to Court Square Capital Partners.
